Welcome to the Barber Holt Charity

The Barber Holt Charity was set up in 2023, to help autistic individuals and their families gain appropriate guidance and support to meet their needs.

It aims, by working with other charities in the autism sector, to support excellence, encourage innovation and promote best practice in all areas of provision for autistic individuals and their families throughout Norfolk and the surrounding areas.

The Charity is open to all projects in Norfolk and its borders with Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk that provide the autistic community with a variety of activities and services across the age range that are shown to benefit their users.

Finance & Funding

The charity does not currently employ any staff members and relies on investment income and legacies to support its work. The financial support the charity provides ranges from a single donation to a commitment to funding over a period of time.

Funding decisions are made quarterly, however in certain circumstances, decisions can be taken at other times, but only by general agreement of the Trustees.

Projects

The interactive map on our Projects page shows the charities that the Barber Holt Charity have supported since 2023, all of which have met the criteria for excellence, innovation and best practice.

The Charity also hopes to become a financial enabler in the field of health and education training, by working with existing school and NHS providers, to build on the services currently available to the autistic community.

Our Trustees

The Barber Holt Charity is administered by five Trustees, headed by its founder and Chair Louise Scrimshaw.

Each Trustee brings a unique set of skills to the charity, which together help to develop the charity and its remit. The Trustees meet quarterly, where all new projects or proposals are considered.
